*SUSTAINABLE WESTON - 24 Hours of Reality: Truth in Action, a Climate Reality event on November 20th from 7:00-8:30 p.m., WIS Cafetorium. Climate Reality Leaders and Weston residents, Tom and Collin Socha, will present and engage us in conversation on the truth of the climate crisis, what it means for this community, as well as the solutions and actions we can take to make a difference. *WESTON YOUTH SERVICES - AFTERSCHOOL GIRLS PROGRAMS: Go Live Girl is a non-profit organization in New Canaan with many groups in the area and the ones in Trackside (Wilton) and Toquet (Westport) are open to any girl from any town (Weston girls welcome!) Positive Directions is also a group for girls (located in Westport) and they have moved their start dates back to to allow for more girls to sign up. Click HERE for more information.

*WESTON WOMEN'S LEAGUE - TRUNK or TREAT - Sunday, October 27th (rain date Monday, October 28th) 4:00-4:30 Sensory Friendly 4:30-6:00, WIS parking lot What can you expect? Lots of little goblins, some extremely creative “trunksters,” multiple food trucks AND an expanded cocoa bar for your trick or treating enjoyment! To help make this a great afternoon for all the kids, families are encouraged to donate 1 bag of candy to the collection bin at the event so that we can avoid running out candy. To donate candy, there will be collection bins at Lang’s Pharmacy, the Library and the Senior Center.
*WESTON WOMEN'S LEAGUE - UNICEF - This month, the Weston Women’s League will be organizing the UNICEF’s Trick or Treat fundraiser at Hurlbutt and Weston Intermediate Schools. UNICEF works to help the most vulnerable children live healthier and brighter futures. Your child can make a difference this Halloween by collecting donations with the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF box that will be handed out mid- October and collected November 8th. UNICEF will use the donations to deliver lifesaving supplies to children in need.
* NAMI - The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Child and Adolescent Network (CAN) is a Support Group for parents of children with behavioral, emotional and mental health issues. The meetings are free, confidential, safe and led by trained volunteer facilitators who themselves have had personal experiences raising children with these concerns. * WEF - Thank you to everyone who helped to make the Harlem Wizards v. Weston’s Brainy Bunch fundraising basketball game a huge success! WEF is thankful for all of the volunteers who gave their time, with special thanks to Weston Cheer, WHS rock band Caravan, WHS senior Momo Burns-Min, and the rest of our student volunteers led by student event co-chair Lindsey Greenberg. Thank you to all of the community members who came to watch the show, the WHS Boosters Club for handling concessions, all of the facilities staff, Weston PD and Volunteer Fire Department who kept the event running smoothly and safely, and of course, thank you to the Brainy Bunch - our wonderful teachers and staff!
